Walks & Explorations around Wardlow, DerbyshireA rough, illustrated, guide to a couple of walks centred on the farm campsite, Three Stags Heads pub & the Yondermann Cafe at Wardlow Mires. Although completely rural now, the whole area was once heavily mined for lead (see historic map link below) By clicking the icon in the top left of the map window, you can select/deselect other options to view or click the icon top right to view full screen.

If you are not camping at Wardlow, the best starting points are probably Litton for the western walk (where there is a shop and another good pub) or near Blakedon Hollow for the eastern one. Obviously either walk can be taken in either direction and the two walks could be combined into one. |
